Jabu

Stories about the children we've helped, this is Jabu.

This is Jabu

A New Arrival. A Heavy Truth.

Two nights ago, a little boy arrived at our gate.

His name is Jabu. He is just one year old.

One, and already, he has witnessed more chaos than most adults can imagine.

He came from a place where raised voices were the soundtrack of his days, where fists flew faster than hugs, and where safety was never guaranteed.

But something happened, the community spoke up. They saw his pain. They heard the fear in his little cries. And they said, “No more.”

Social workers were contacted. Jabu was removed from that chaos. And now…

He is here.

With us.

Safe.

He’s tiny, with eyes that are far too watchful for his age. He doesn’t trust yet. He flinches at sudden movements. He clings tightly when held.

But we’re taking it slow.

Step by step.

Soft voice by soft voice.

Warm meal by warm meal.

Gentle hug by gentle hug.

Because here, he is wanted.

Here, he is loved.

And here, he gets to be a little boy again.

Welcome home, Jabu.

We’ve got you now.
